We are pleased to announce that Mr. Shaun Scott has been named Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach for Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School & Academy. Coach Shaun was with the Cardinals last season as a Varsity Assistant under Coach John Yost. Prior to joining the Stritch staff he coached at Woodward and Scott High Schools, as well as Hopson Elite AAU.
When asked about the position Coach Shaun said, “I am excited about the future of this program. We have a lot of talented younger players who are willing to put in the work both on and off the court. They have great character, work ethic, and passion for the game. A lot of positive things are happening for this program and it’s one for the area to keep an eye on.”
Coach Shaun is passionate about developing student-athletes for not only the challenges they will face on the court, but also in life. He is a former chaplain for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, which is an organization that incorporates one’s faith with the game. He has proudly led Bible studies, service opportunities, and mentorship sessions for players, coaches, and staff members. Coach Shaun already has plans to ensure our young athletes will have plenty of opportunities to be servant leaders within our school and greater community while showing appreciation for all that has been given to them.
Professionally Coach Shaun is an account manager at Randstad Engineering where he hopes to bring his various connections within the organization and community to educate our student-athletes on topics from professionalism, networking, leadership, and so on. He takes the title student-athlete very seriously and wants to ensure his players are set up for success both academically and athletically.
Coach Shaun would like to take the time to engage with current and prospective players and their families to answer any questions while also giving a detailed description of what to expect for the 2024-2025 season. If you or your son will be a rising 7th-12th grader in 2024-2025, Coach Shaun invites you to an informational meeting on Thursday, April 18 at 5:00 p.m. in the media center. At this meeting you’ll be given a schedule for open gyms and conditioning sessions this summer to help prepare for tryouts in November.
